Hey everyone, just wanted to let you all know that I'm still alive!

I don't have any internet for about a week now, we actually had some before that, but then it just stopped working (I'm currently at an internet cafe). We were supposed to get it back within the next last few days, but you just can't really trust the Mauritian people here with that....

Anyways, besides no net I'm doing really good, I made lots of new friends here and really start enjoying the time here. The first week was kind of a mess though, my original project was cancelled and I had to move to another house and no one told me about that, like at all. :/ It was really frustrating, since the people here are so unreliable, but now I finally have a new project and a new place to stay, so things are starting to look a lot better.
I'm also really looking forward to my birthday next week, celebrating under palm trees on a tropical island is something I always wanted to do! 8D
We already spent a lot of time at the wonderful beaches and also did stuff like a beach party and watching the night sky from our roof. We were even supposed to make a boat trip this weekend, but a huge cyclone caused this trip literally to go down the drain. We couldn't leave the house for the whole weekend since it was raining and storming so much, nothing like I've ever seen before. But luckily it turned out that the storm just barely touched the island, I don't even want to imagine what would have happened if it hit Mauritius directly. 8I
The only thing that really annoys me so far are the buses here...there are the cheapest way to travel here, but GODDAMN ARE THEY SLOW. Not only do they all go at random times without a schedule, a trip of about 15 kilometers takes you almost 2 freaking hours by bus...and keep in mind this is a really tiny island to begin with. Oh and something like air conditioning doesn't exist in most buses of course...

But besides that, the island is really beautiful and the people are all very friendly. I really enjoy the food here, lots of Indian and Chinese influences and also very spicy! 8U

Okay, I think that's all for now! I'll try to catch up with all the awesome entries for the first round of End Run and hope that I can finish some drawings myself over the next week or so  (it's really hard to draw when it's that hot <_>) and stay in contact with all you guys!
